My neighbor knows we have a lot of pets so he brought over this crazy lookin turtle he found in his yard thinking it was ours. well it wasn't.. so yeahhh im kind of scared to touch it again until i know fer sure what it is. (it also hissed at me when i picked it up for like the 4th time)

this is the best picture i could get considering it's kinda dark outside and he was scared.

I agree that pictures from a few different angles would be very helpful. It appears to be a Red-eared Slider (Trachemys scripta elegans). The algae growths on it's shell imply that if it's not a wild turtle, it's been living feral for a good while. The best thing to do would be to find a quiet, secluded body of water and release it.

Dont know what kind it is but if it's not yours, let it go. If someone picked you up for the fourth time you'd hiss at them too :).

A side view would be helpful as would your general location. Does he have webbed feet?

Please put him back outside.
