It is actually cheaper and easier to buy chicken at the grocery store and feed that to the alligator. Zoos will feed their alligators chicken like this. As for finding a new home - contact your local zoos or wildlife rescue and explain to them the situation. They may be able to help you rehome your alligator.

Personally, I don't know why anyone would want a pet that they would not be able to take care of for it's entire life.

It seems to me not that your alligator is too large, but rather too small. The kittens you're feeding her are obviously malnourished, thereby providing little sustenance and protein. I suggest you fatten up the kittens before feeding her, and then smack a lawsuit onto the pet store so as to avoid getting in trouble for these acts that society deems 'unacceptable'.

I didn't know you were allowed pet alligators? Where do you live?

As for feeding it, raw beef or chicken? Also rats, chicks and eggs I've heard they will eat.
