I have a 1 year old sulcata tortoise and i was thinking about keeping running water in her/his tortoise table with a modified table fountain. would this be harmful to her/his health? i also wanted to place a bonzie tree in there to just add to decoration. would that be ok as well? her bedding is still timothy hay and she will have a heat lamp uva/uvb lamp and all other necessities.

http://www.tortoisetrust.org/articles/houseplants.htm here is a list of house plants that can be toxic to tortoises i would check first before you put a bonsai in with it the tortoise may eat the bonsai so be careful, the flowing water would look cool but i doubt the tortoise will drink out of it all you really need is a shallow dish just big enough for the tortoise to get its nose and mouth into, you will probably find the tortoise will just mess the fountain up but it is down to how you want your enclosure to look, best of luck with your tortoise honey

its really unnecessary. Sulcata tortoises do not need a lot of water and i think the running water would only be a hassle to you. She will defecate in it especially if its running and this will only cause more frequent changes. They really only need a shallow bowl of water.
