I like the one respondent's idea of the paper towel roll; it's similar enough to the Cricket Keeper setup that it might just work. ;-)

You could also try getting an old egg container (the cardboard one) and tear off a part of the bottom. PetSmart puts a piece of eggcrate into the bag when I buy crickets so they don't crush each other; and by the time I check out every single cricket is on it.

I've used small Tupperware-type containers and gently scooped them up as well; the containers that don't have a lip around the edge work better, and square or rectangular ones work better than round or oval. I once managed to dump a bag of 40 crickets on my kitchen floor and the kids and I grabbed the eggcrate, the Cricket Keeper tubes, and some Tupperware containers, and managed to catch most of them quickly (and our kitten got a bit of a snack too LOL).

i take it u arent much for touching them then lol. ok take a paper towel roll(empty) and a piece of card board. tape one end of the roll adn coax the crickets to run into the toilet paper roll then after u have them use the card board to cover the other side and then put it in the keeper and shake them out lol..

good luck this should work pretty well for u.
