i have a yellow bellied slider terrapin, im living in the UK so we dont get much light :P
i have bought a heat lamp and UVB lamp. how long every day should i keep it on for the turtle?
at the moment i had been keeping it on for about 6 hours a day (whenever i was at home)...but the bulb blew after 2 months. whats the proper amount of exposure my terrapin should be getting?

Twelve hr on, 12 off is usual and remember to replace the bulb after 6 months, even if it is still producing visible light.

They should get 10-14 hours a day. Try turning it on first thing in the morning, and turning it off JUST before bed.
