california mountain kingsnake feeding?

okay so i caught a california mountain kingsnake when i was camping about a week ago. i checked the regulations and everything in the department of fish and game they are not illegal to catch in the part of california i am in. I did some reasearch about keeping and caring for them and it says to feed juvenile mice when they are adults. is a juvenile adult like a weanling mouse? it is about three foot but has a very small head a little smaller than my thumb. please don't give me any crap about how you shouldn't keep wild animals it's not illegal and it's a free country...

go to your local pet store and ask for a hopper mouse or two. They should be small enough for your king Snake to eat. You need to stay in the room to make sure your snake eats. Mice and rats are know for eating snakes that don't eat them first.

It may or may not eat a mouse, king snakes are opportunity feeders which means they eat, lizards, frogs, some rodents ( wild rodents smell different than domestic ones) and of course other snakes.the prey item should be no larger than 3 times the length of the head and as big around as the thickest part of the body. It may eat for you if you offer it the right stuff it might not. some wild caught animals NEVER eat in captivity and just end up dying. that's why people are against keeping wild caught as captives unless you have the experience and knowledge to keep them alive. Just because its a FREE Country doesn't give you the Moral right to just take and and possibly kill whatever you want because ITs Legal!! don't be an ********! especially if your asking a question!?

If it doesn't eat for you within 30-40 days at least set it free so it has a small chance of surviving. How would you like if some body picked you up put you in cage and starved you to death??Just because it was Legal?? would that be o.k.???
