Yesterday i purchased a baby ball python from a man who is claiming he needed to get rid of it due to a baby on the way. When i got home i started noticing some things that made me think the snake i just purchased had not spent more then a few days at his old home. first off when i walked in his house the mans wife said she was happy i was taking that "******* **** snake" and began saying hopefully i wouldnt be scared to hold it like they were. then i started noticing everything they gave me looked suspiciously new! for instance the substrate was brand new, and the frozen fuzzies they gave me only had one missing! Then i tried to pick up my new python and what do you know.. he bit me! later in the night he became more active and i noticed he pooped! except his poop was very wet and mooshy. i thought that was normal until i looked in my book and it said the poo should be similiar to a cats.... any ideas why he has diarrhea?

Sounds like people I've dealt with before. I've taken in unwanted and neglected snakes. The extremes of their health problems differed, but nearly all of them shared one thing in common: excess amount of pinworms.

Pinworms and other parasites are a usual culprit for diarrhea in reptiles. The prey items have the worms and they are transferred to the snake when it feeds. Having a low count of pinworms is actually normal in a snake and nothing to be concerned about. Things like not cleaning the cage, leaving the snake in its own feces, etc can lead to a rise in parasites. Infections can also cause it, as the snake's immune system is unable to keep the number of worms to a minimum.

Take the snake to an exotic pet vet. It is more expensive than your average vet because exotics are a whole other level of expertise. They'll be able to pinpoint the cause for the snake's diarehha. They will want a fecal sample, so bag the next one and get it to the vet asap! (They need it as fresh as possible for the tests)

Good luck!

first of, the people you purchased your baby snake from wete bad people, who bout the snake and snake items either to try and sell the snake at a higher price to earn money, or bought the snake as a pet and realizing they dont know what the h*ll they were doing and then just sold it. The snake was probobly sick before the people bought it, take it to the vet.

Yes, They built the enamel at the same time nonetheless within the egg. They are very small. If you ever get bit, which if very unlickly you are going to discover out it does now not even harm. Feels like being hit very evenly with sand paper
