I've ben doing Research on them and many websites said they prefer to house crested geckos in mesh cages instead of glass. But mesh is harder to keep humidity I read. I'm planning to use a humidity holding substrate like eco earth and mist twice daily. I live in Tucson,AZ so what would be better for humidity glass or mesh. I probably cant spray more then twice a day because of school. Also what do you do for keeping humid in balance?

Don't use a mesh cage, it will be impossible to keep the humidity up. Go with a simple glass aquarium with a mesh lid, that's all the ventilation you need. Then mist once or twice a day.

Use a glass cage. I just got 2 babies 2 weeks ago and they live in a 18x18x18 glass cage. It works very well because one, it does keep the humidity up (which should be around 50-70%) and two, it prevents any possible drafts that I am unaware of at night or during the day.

Second, don't use bedding for these guys. If they eat it on accident, it will cause serious problems if not death for them. Just use the carpet for the bottom floor. It may not look "nice or natural" but it will be worth it in the long run.

there are benefits and drawbacks or each glass holds humidity better but lacks in ventilation which can attribute to mold growth and poor air flow. I would go with mesh just with some precautions to hold humidity first substrate either coconut fiber like bed-a-beast or bark. There is also an under substrate called hydroballs that are supposed to help but i haven't used them personally. then is your misting 2x daily will help. Third i would recommend live tropical plants they will help keep humidity in naturally just try not to place them close to lighting or they can die. what type depends on the height of your enclosure for something small pothos should work and for large cages ficus is excellent and will give geckos a great place to climb on. whatever you use just make sure it is nontoxic, can't hurt the geckos(sharp spines, sticky surface, etc), and doesn't get too large for cage as long as you can trim it. Just check out local nurseries or garden centers and cross reference to make sure its not dangerous

Good Luck

I personally like glass. Its easier to clean and holds humidity better. I use Eco earth too its great.

These cages are made specifically for crested geckos. Size wise, this cage is perfect. It's big enough to hold five or six large adults, yet short enough that you can stack them three cages high.
