Suppose that I catch a kingsnake in the wild, and what to take it home as a pet. The drive home is two hours. Would I need any special equipment? Would there be any legal issues with this?

Please note that this is research for a story. I am not actually planning on doing this.

A lot of people use pillow cases to transport snakes. Or you can get a suit case of some sort and put the snake in there, or you can get a plastic tub poke holes on the lid and also i would make sure the lid is a snap on ;)

Best of luck to you and you snake catching =)

The best way for transporting a snake, would be to put it in a pillow case, to calm it, and then either a polysterine box, or a plastic RUB.

Obviously with holes in :)

Just put it in your pants, and if anyone asks, just say,"its my snake".
