Going home over the weekend. What can i feed my baby mississippi map turtle?

Im heading home from college this weekend for 3 days. What can i do to feed my turtle? Everyone that i can trust is heading home too so its not like I can get someone to feed it everyday.

You can feed him before you leave and leave some aquatic plants and feeder fish in his tank he will munch on them while you are gone

Rice cereal is actually just tried because it's supposedly hypoallergenic, there's no reason to go back and try it. Wheat and Barley, if you put those off too long, have a higher risk of causing allergies, so I would try a little barley sometime soon, but there's no reason to go back to rice. Instead of the baby cereal, try actual oatmeal sometime, most babies LOVE the texture. Don't get the flavored ones, and if you want to add any flavor just a bit of pure maple syrup or berries mashed up in it. This link is to research about delaying grains too long being associated with allergies. Basically those babies who's parents delayed past 6 months to introduce wheat have a 4x greater risk of being allergic. Rice isn't known to really cause allergies if delayed past 6 months. So while you should introduce barley, you don't need to worry about rice. And if you do decide to give barley or oatmeal, skip the baby stuff. At 7 months she probably would prefer the home-made stuff.

Why don't you bring it along with you? Put it in a small little tank, so you won't have to worry whether it eats or not when you're away. And since it's a baby,it requires much care.

I feed my turtles everyday, about once or twice a day, with just the right amount of food.

Reptiles (even turtles) can go weeks without food. Feed him before you leave and he'll be fine. If you have a light, put it on a timer as they need ultra violet light and darkness in equal amounts.

Feed him well before you leave and then add a couple of minnows, other than that your red ear slider should be fine! Most people only feed their turtle once or twice a week so it will be fine for three days!
