Here are some very important facts on keeping scorpions. This answer's going to get a little long lol, so be prepared.

You will need a locking screen top tank. A 5-10 gallon tank is fine for one or two scorpions. A 15-20 gallon tank will be needed if keeping a communal colony.

For tropical scorpions you will need eco-earth or bed-a-beast substrate. For desert scorpions you may use commercial play sand as substrate.

A hide area or multiple hiding areas if you have more than one scorpion. Half logs available at most pet stores work well for this. A shallow water dish is needed for them.

Optional decorations available at pet stores may be added to the cage if you desire to make it a more attractive and natural looking habitat. An under the tank heat pad should be provided on one side of the tank.

Specific lighting is not required for scorpions because they are nocturnal, but a UV black light will make your scorpion glow and is very interesting to see.

You should have gut loaded crickets and other insects for feeding your scorpion.

These are all things to remember when keeping a pet scorpion, hopefully I helped you out some. Good luck to you and your new buddy! (:

Yeah sugar gliders, ferrets (they are a bit like a cat or a dog) Chinchillas, giant African land snail, hamster (i know they aren't exotic but they are great pets to have!) snakes. I know I didn't give much information about each animal but you can look those up yourself =P I hope I've helped and good luck! (I'd love to have a sugar glider or two myself...) EDIT: Sugar gliders are a complicated sort of pet to keep so maybe you shouldn't think about it after all... They demand a great deal of your time and needs lots of care and so on. Maybe stick to a snake or a cockroach or another of the animals that I listed above.
