Ball pythons only get 3-5 ft on average, rarely reaching 6 ft but it is possible. So you are correct. NO ball pythons don't constantly grow, no snake does. All snakes have a general average size. He must be thinking of a reticulated python, which do get huge. Here is a caresheet I made with all the information about ball pythons you need.

snakes dont keep growing according to what they are housed in and the size depends on the gender. females get larger than males. I went to this website when I was searching for info on a ball python:

http://www.a1pythons.com/ball.html

It says:

Adult size: Ball Pythons are a small to medium size python with adults ranging from 3 to 5 feet, females are generally larger and heavier bodied than males. A monster female may approach six feet and is a very impressive animal.

Hope that helps :)

BP's only get up to 5ft at most.

Males get up to 3 feet, while females get up to 5ft.

He might be confused with a Burmese python which can eat up to 16ft, i believe

A male ball python can reach about 6 feet while males can get around 4 feet. It's true that if you keep the snake in a small cage it won't grow until you change it's cage to a bigger one, but I wouldn't recommend doing that.

I think your right. Some might even stay alittle smaller than your guess. I think he's thinking about a reticulated python. Those get up to 20 feet or possibly bigger. http://www.a1pythons.com/ball.html

Look at that link. You're right. :)

A big ball python is about 4 - 6 feet. Balls grow slow and sometimes fast for long periods of time. A 14ft ball would be a record.

The biggest ball python in recoded history was 6.5 feet but typically males will only grow to a max of about 4 feet and females will attain up to 5.5 feet.

They are confusing ball pythons with the big 5 of Reticulated Pythons (Python reticulatus), Amethystine Pythons (Morelia amethystina), Burmese Pythons (Python mollurrus bivittatus), African Rock Pythons (Python sebae) and the INdian Rock Python (Python mollurus mollurus).

Also the sizeof the enclosure is only relevant to the growth of fish it has no bearing on reptiles.

"your moms boyfriend is right because if you look at it, the ball python in the amazon is about over 12 ft."

There are no Pythons of any kind in South America and no ball python has ever reached anywhere near that size. Also Ball Pythons (Python regius) come from Africa.
