2.yes its safe

3.just a heat lamp with a 50 to 75 wattage or if your using a heat pad u dont need a lamp.

4.reptile carpet is perfect for leopard geckos becuase its not loose so they cant eat part of it unlike sand.

5. 2 ways u can buy an incubator or u can make one buy getting a ziploc plastic container and poke 1 hole in it and fill it up with vermiculate or perlite and put it somewhere where the temp. reaches about 85 degrees and make sure the temp stays there.

6. no for 2 leopard geckos you should atleast have a 15 gallon.

7. you dont need one if you have a heating light but if you would rather use the heating pad instead of the heat lamp then go for it.

8. yes you can let them play witheachother but put the other back in the ten gallon after there done.

othe info:

Leopard Gecko (Eublepharis macularius)

The leopard gecko has been captive-bred in the United States for more than 30 years and is one of the most commonly kept lizards today. These hardy saurians come in a variety of colors, patterns and sizes. This is a great species for the home. Imagine a lizard that can vocalize and wash an eye with its tongue with ease. There is a friendly dinosaur in this small package.

Leopard Gecko Availability

Captive-bred leopard geckos can be found in pet stores, at reptile shows and on the Internet. Many breeders have websites where you can learn about, select and purchase healthy leopards, which range in price from $20 to $3,000. There is a huge collector market worldwide for the rarer variations of leopard geckos.

Leopard Gecko Size

Hatchlings measure 3 to 4 inches long. Adult females are typically 7 to 8 inches, and males are 8 to 10 inches. Some males of the giant bloodlines reach nearly a foot.

Super Giant Leopard Gecko

Leopard Gecko Life Span

Leopard geckos are long-lived compared to some reptiles. On average you can expect your gecko to live six to 10 years, but many males live 10 to 20 years. At least one male is still breeding at 27½ years of age.

Leopard Gecko Caging

A 10- to 20-gallon aquarium houses one or two leopard geckos from hatchling to adult size. Larger tanks tend to cause the geckos to stray away from their proper heat and hide box. Although visibility is reduced, many people use plastic storage boxes as housing. Any cage you choose should be at least 1 foot tall. Be sure to have a secure screen top on your gecko cage that will support a light fixture, provide good ventilation and keep out bothersome cats.

A hide box filled with moist moss or vermiculite is needed, so your leopard gecko can shed its skin properly. This secure setting also is needed for egg laying if you plan on breeding geckos.

Live or artificial plants can be added for a nice decorative touch.

Leopard Gecko Lighting and Temperature

The best way to heat your leopard gecko is by using an undertank heating pad or tape. These are available at any pet store or online. Heating one end of the cage is best. This allows for a temperature variation that your lizard needs. Heat rocks tend to become too hot for leopard geckos and should be avoided due to the risk of burns.

For viewing, a simple low-wattage light can be placed overhead on the screen-cage top and left on 12 hours a day.

Because leopard geckos are active at night (notice their vertical pupils), they do not need to bask under a special UVB light.

Albino leopard geckos are light-sensitive for the first few months of their lives, but they do fine as a pet.

The ideal temperature in the hide box is 86 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit at all times. The ambient air temperature of the room they are housed in should be above 73 degrees.

Leopard Gecko Substrate

Newspaper, pea gravel, artificial turf, flat stones or no floor covering are OK. A young or debilitated leopard gecko might consume sand or fine-particle products on the cage floor, and this could lead to intestinal impaction.

Leopard geckos actually have a "bathroom" in one corner of their cages, and that area can be spot-cleaned without disrupting the entire system.

Do not expose your gecko to commercial plant soils or sands that may contain fertilizer or pesticides.

1.Telling you all the kinds of leopard gecko morphs would take days, breeders have developed so many its ridiculous. but what you can do is google, leopardgeckowiki, and there a link that says morphs. (those are not all the morphs but are most of them)

2. It's not recommended since the chemicals will travel onto the gecko, its better to just use it after your done handling.

3. leopard geckos are nocturnal they dont require any UVB lighting or special light what so ever, its only there for your visually needs.

4. Reptile carpet is just a carpet sold at most pet stores and online, there made to fit into tanks. they usually cost about 10bucks.

5. If you are not experienced with breeding leopard geckos ( doing lots of research) i dont recommend that you breed them. will you end up killing your female if its underweight or not healthy enough. your female should be atleast 60grams and 1 year old, your male should be 10months old and atleast 55grams. You can buy a hovabator for 30-50bucks online at bigappleherp.com or lllreptile, com or make your own, just google search how to make a reptile incubator.

eggs containers can be 2 qt rubbermaid containers.

6. No, 10 gallon tanks are good for 1 adult leopard gecko OR 2-3 newborn babies.

7. yes you will need some kind of heat source. if you are breeding you will need heat tape since you will end up with about 20 babies. you also need a thermostat whcih can run you up 80-130 bucks.

8. leopard geckos are not social reptiles, they dont require 'friends'. it is actually healthier for the gecko to be alone, but if it is 2 females in theory they can 'hang out' as long as they are both the same size (if any is bigger their might be bullying)

To be honest buy the questions you asked, i do not think you have any if little knowledge about breeding leopard geckos. I highly dont recommend that you attempt breeding, until you have done tons of research and are capable of caring for over 15 baby geckos. If you are not capable of caring for them you will just put your female in harms way for no reason.

1).Types there are raptor/eclipse,diablo blanco,super tangerine,albinos,tangerines,normals,enigma,snows,blazing blizzard,emeralds.

2).You should use hand sanitizer after you hold the leopard gecko.

3).You will need a heat lamp for the gecko.

4).Buy reptile carpet its better than sand because they eat to much sand an they get packed with it and they could die

5).Buy a little container and buy hatchrite bedding.

6).You could but you should buy a 20.

7).You should put both in a 20 gal.

good luck with the gecko.

It's a norm for Petco animals. Even under excellent care, animals from large-scale pet stores often die early because of where they come from and how they are bred. Petco doesn't breed their own critters in store, instead they ship them in from places where they are mass produced merely for profit. While you may get a handful of healthy pets there, (my current boa is a Petco boa and she's just fine) most are of poor health. We had a small pet shop until Petco came and kicked them out of business. I've noticed the lack of quality care, employees, and animals here that was present in the small pet shop. I never had health problems with small animals except for those I bought from Petco.
